Silhoutte Lift is a type of thread lift which uses absorbable threads to stabilize & lift cheeks for temporary improvement.
Thread lifts have evolved since 2015 to be safer and more natural. Dr. Newman uses a number of different thread styles for patients who have adequate volume and desire a minimal downtime procedure. While most of our patients do elect to have surgery in the future, the Silhouette lift provides an option for the short term to give the cheeks a lift. The immediate recovery enables the patient to go back to normal activities within 2 days and after 2 weeks the face has recovered its soft and natural aspect, any sign of the procedure has disappeared. Below are a few examples of Dr. Newman’s patients who fit criteria for the silhouette or thread lift.
The procedure takes place in 4 stages:
Insertion – Deployment – Anchoring – Suspension – Fixation
The threads are inserted on the bias through a micro-incision in the temporal region.
These sutures are made from polypropylene, a biocompatible material with the human body which has been used for many years in cardiovascular and ophthalmic surgery.
The Silhouette Life sutures are the most innovative sutures to date. They are not barbed which avoids any tissue damage and thanks to small re-absorbable cones which anchor themselves in deep tissue, a tension is produced which lifts the sagging tissue.
The fibrosis around the suture produces a much stronger suspension mechanism than traditional methods. Silhouette Lift is ideal for correcting nasolabial folds, expression lines as well as the oval of the face, cheeks and neck.
Q: What is a Silhouette Lift?
A: Silhouette-Lift is a new technique developed for use with Silhouette Sutures, a new suspension thread. This minimally invasive technique is used to lift and reposition sagging mid face tissue. Silhouette Sutures offer significantly greater lift due to their unique absorbable cones which give strong traction when lifting the soft tissue. The sutures are attached to the temporal fascia. To achieve this, a small incision is made above the hairline, where the sutures are anchored.

Q: What about the results?
A: The results are first and foremost natural. Your appearance is less tired, your face is refreshed but you remain the same. This rejuvenation keeps all your expressions alive.
Q: How long do the results last?
A: As of today, the track record on the Silhouette Sutures is two years for plastic surgery and four years for reconstructive surgery in the US. Our research and development team considers the results to have a four year lasting period. Unfortunately, any rejuvenation procedure does not stop the aging process.
Q: Is Silhouette Lift an alternative to a traditional facelift?
A: A Silhouette Lift can not replace a traditional face lift if you are considering this procedure. It is, however, an effective way of postponing a traditional facelift for several years.
