Fat grafting is a popular procedure because it involves using the patient’s own tissues to augment or enlarge the breasts or gluteal region.
Larger volumes are needed for these anatomic areas as compared to the face where fat grafting works well. Dr. Newman uses advanced techniques to gently harvest and then purify the fat to help the survival of large volume fat grafting.
The Cytori Dialysis system is used to purify the fat before grafting.
Typically the large volume fat grafting (greater than 100cc) is performed under intravenous sedation or general anesthesia. Volume to the breast can vary from 100-300cc per breast and the gluteal region can vary from 250-600 cc per side.
Special support garments are worn for two weeks after the procedure.
